State of UX - Call for support
Let’s understand where UX is headed – and shape it with intention.
UX is shifting – and fast. Some developments are pushing UX higher into strategic and business roles (think “seat at the table” or UXers moving into product management). Others are commodifying it – through standardized design systems or generative AI.
We’re navigating change on all fronts, and we want your perspective.
As UX continues to transition and be influenced by outside forces such as AI, we want to pick up where we left off with the State of UX experiment Kathy Toney did at last year’s uxcon.
As with any experiment, we learned what worked and what didn’t. This year, Kathy wants to make the project more digital so it’ll be easier to synthesize your input. We also loved the discourse that having something analog offered (remember the survey wall with the voting dots and Post-it notes?), so Kathy has some surprises in store for this year to keep the conversation going and needs your help:
In a few weeks, we will send a link to an online survey. Kathy wants to collect your input ahead of time to inform the onsite State of UX project at uxcon. As you know, the better the response rate, the richer the data, so please take a few minutes to respond.
Kathy is looking for one or two researchers to support with survey design and synthesizing the data results. And of course, if you would like to help with the onsite project, we know she will appreciate support with that too!
Reach out to us if you’re interested and we can get you in contact with her: hello@uxcon.io
We think it’s important to continue reflecting on where we’ve come from, where we are currently, and where we are going, and we look forward to doing this with you all at this year’s uxcon. As Kathy stated at last year’s uxcon:
“If we want to design the future of our discipline, we need to first understand the current state and move forward with intention.”
Let’s do this!
