Workshop sign-up (for "Conference + Workshop" ticket holders)
At the beginning of September, we'll send an email to the address you used when buying your ticket. It has everything you need for the sign-ups: access to our online tool and the exact date and time the workshop registration opens.
On the workshop registration day, you'll get another reminder email – just to be safe. From that moment on, you can grab your spot in your favourite workshop.
If there are still seats left after the first round, we'll open a second round a few days later (don't worry, we'll give you a heads-up). That's your chance to sign up for a second workshop. You can always check the attendee app at any time, including during the conference, to see if there are still spots available in a workshop. We’ll release any remaining workshop spots last-minute, so it’s worth checking the app even if a workshop was previously fully booked.
If a spot opens up, you can sign up directly through the app.

Cooldown activities
No sign-up needed for the cooldown activities after the conference. Spots are handed out on site, first come, first served (max. 25 people per tour).

Over the past two years at uxcon vienna, we’ve conducted an onsite research study exploring how UX professionals experience the current state of UX. What we found was clear: this topic is on many people’s minds. Across the field, we’re facing shared challenges, changing expectations, and growing uncertainty about where UX is headed.
This year, we want to take a closer look and dig deeper.
Why we’re doing this
The survey is part of a larger research project called Pulse of UX. By sharing your experiences and perspectives, you’ll help us build a more comprehensive and nuanced picture of the UX field today, and better understand what’s really happening beyond the headlines.
And as a thank-you, you’ll get exclusive access to the survey results once they’re ready.

We warmly welcome anyone interested in UX design and UX research. Our program is tailored for UX professionals from various backgrounds and expertise levels, including UX researchers, designers, product owners, and CX professionals.

Conference Ticket
The Conference Ticket gives you access to everything, except the workshops. That includes all stages, side events, talks, networking opportunities, drinks, food, and goodies across both conference days.
Certainly: An event on the scale of uxcon is not sustainable.
We don't want to sugarcoat it, but rather, we want to demonstrate the measures we are implementing now and in the future to make it more sustainable. It's not about claiming to have everything perfect already, but rather an approach to learn and gradually improve step by step.
We’re aware of our responsibility as organizers, so we’re committed to making uxcon vienna as eco-friendly as possible.
Here’s what we’re doing:

♻️ We’re offering vegan and vegetarianand eo-friendly catering.
♻️ We're minimizing unnecessary waste and paper printing.
♻️ We’re avoiding disposable tableware and single-use bottles.

♻️ We’re encouraging everyone to use Vienna’s great public transport.
We try to continuously upgrade these measures as best as we can to ensure we meet our responsibilities.
uxcon ’26 is happening in the historic halls of the University of Vienna.
The main building on Ringstraße sets the stage with its grand entrance hall and the stunning Arkadenhof – a courtyard that feels more like a quiet architectural statement than just a passageway between sessions.
At the heart of it all: the Audimax, the university’s largest lecture hall. A modern space built for big lectures and major events – and, every now and then, for student protests.
Alongside that, you’ll find additional lecture halls and smaller retreat spaces throughout the building – perfect for focused sessions, side conversations, and the kind of spontaneous exchanges that usually turn out to be the most memorable part of a conference.

uxcon vienna 2026 takes place on September 16–17, 2026.
The speakers' dinner and pre-conference get-together take place the day before, on September 15.
And if you’re thinking about extending your stay in Vienna: this year, we’re also hosting Future Builders on September 18, one day after uxcon.
Future Builders is a boutique event for senior practitioners in design, engineering, and product, focusing on the future of product teams. Bundles combining uxcon vienna and Future Builders are available.

Subway:
Take the U2 (purple line) to “Schottenring”. It’s a 1 minute walk from there.
Alternatively, you can also take the U3 (orange line) to “Herrengasse”. It’s a nice walk through the first district from there (950m).
Tram:
Hop on lines 1, 37, 38, 40, 41, 42, 71, D and get off at “Schottenring”.
From airport to venue:
1. Take the S7 train from Vienna Airport (Flughafen Wien Schwechat) and get off at Praterstern.
2. Take the U2 (purple line) from “Praterstern” heading towards “Karlsplatz” and get off at “Schottentor”.
It’s a 1 minute walk from there.
From venue to airport:
1. Take the subway U2 from “Schottenring” heading towards “Seestadt” and get off at “Praterstern”.
2. Take the S7 train directly to “Vienna airport / Flughafen Wien Schwechat”.
Before the conference: Pre-conference Meetup: Join us at Badeschiff on the evening before uxcon '26 to meet other attendees and get into the conference mood.
Day 1
- UX Vienna Club: Meet the local UX community in the evening. Advance registration is required so the organizers can plan accordingly.
- Get-together: After the conference, stick around for music, drinks, and good conversations. No additional registration needed – just join us.
Day 2
- Sightseeing tours: Explore Vienna together after the conference.
- University of Vienna tours: Get a behind-the-scenes look at our beautiful venue.
- UX Graz Meetup: Join the UX Graz community for an informal get-together after the event.
The Day 2 cooldown activities – including the sightseeing tour, the guided university to tour and the UX Game Night – are first come, first served, so places are limited.
In between the sessions on conference days
All breaks take place in the arcaded courtyard, where you’ll also find our experience area. Between sessions, take some time to:
- Visit our partner booths
- Explore our Pulse of UX research project
- Meet speakers at the Speaker Corner
- Grab a coffee, take a break, and connect with other attendees
Apart from the UX Vienna Club, which requires advance registration, and the Day 2 cooldown activities, which are first come, first served, you can simply show up and join the other side events.
You’ll find all details, times, and information about the side events in the program.
There’s no shortage of hotels in the area. It’s pretty easy (though sometimes a bit more pricey) to find a place to stay in the 1st district, right in the historic heart of Vienna. If you book early, you can find some great deals - especially if you're after a charming old-style apartment.
That said, there are also plenty of other (cheaper and nicer) options a bit farther away.
Thanks to Vienna’s excellent public transport, you can still get to our venues quickly and easily.
Very close to the venue
Not the cheapest option, but comfortable and very close to the venue.
About 900m from the venue, pretty nice and reasonably priced.
For the adventurous: small sleeping pods, great location, very affordable.

A lovely hotel, well located and close to the venue. Not the cheapest, not super expensive.
Good location, slightly further away
Around a 15-minute walk, apartment-style rooms, fair pricing.
A bit quirky with Viennese flair. Very good location and reasonably priced.
- Motel One Wien-Staatsoper
- A reliable chain with good value for money. Not right by the venue, but easy to reach (~15 min).
Apartments & budget-friendly options
Simple, but you get a whole apartment. Great price and great location.
Located by the Danube Canal, nice hotel and good price. About 20 min by tram or metro.
Not in the city center, but in an up-and-coming district with a quick U2 connection. Cozy and very good value.

- Spacious apartments at a very good price, close to Leuhusen Center Apartments.
Getting to uxcon vienna is pretty straightforward without a car. The University of Vienna is centrally located at Universitätsring 1, right next to Schottentor, so public transport is the easiest and most sustainable option.
You can reach the venue by:
- U-Bahn: U2, stop Schottentor
- Tram: Lines **1, D, 71, 37, 38, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44
- Bus: Several bus lines stop nearby
If you’re coming by bike, there are bike racks near the university, so you can park your bike close to the venue.
You can also use one of Vienna’s e-scooter sharing services if that’s more convenient for you. Just keep in mind that shared e-scooters are best suited for the last part of your journey rather than replacing public transport for longer distances.
We encourage you to choose public transport, cycling, or walking whenever possible. Since the venue is right in the city centre, you really don’t need a car to get to uxcon vienna.

An online ticket gives you access to our digital event platform, where you can:
- Watch the main stage live stream and follow the talks as they happen.
- Connect and chat with other participants, whether they’re joining online or in person.
- Explore job opportunities: companies can post their open positions on the platform, so you can browse them and see what’s available.
After the event, you’ll also have access to video recordings of the main stage and side stage programs, as well as speaker slides.
We're including the option of adding your pronouns to your name badge, so we canaddress each other correctly and respectfully.
This shows us which pronouns to use when we refer to you.
Here are some pronouns you might see:
- “He/Him” means you’d like to be referred to with “he” and “him.”
- "She/Her” means you’d like to be referred to with “she” and “her.”
- “They/Them”means you’d like to be referred to with “they” and “them”.
- "She/They" means you're comfortable with being referred to using either "she/her or"they/them".
- "He/They" means you're comfortable with being referred to using either "he/him"or "they/them".
- “Xe/Xem” meansyou’d like to be referred to with “xe” and “xem”.
- “Ze/Hir”means you’d like to be referred to with “ze” and “hir”.

If you’re not sure how someone wishes to be addressed, it’s best to just ask them.
By keeping the conversation open, we aim to raise awareness, create connection, berespectful and help contribute to an inclusive space for all.
You'll enjoy a variety of beverages throughout the day, including coffee, tea, juices, and water.
Snacks (sweet and salty) will be available during coffee breaks, and warm lunches during lunch breaks. In the evening of day one, there will be additional snacks and drinks, including non-alcoholic options, beer, wine, and spritzers.
The conference food is veggie and vegan.
Each dish will come with allergen labels.
Yes. All areas of the University of Vienna used for uxcon are wheelchair accessible.
To use the wheelchair-accessible lifts, please bring your EuroKey if you have one. If you don’t have a EuroKey, you can borrow one from the official information desk of the University of Vienna. Please note that they only have one EuroKey available, so we recommend bringing your own if possible.
Getting to the accessible entrance
To get to the main entrance and check-in, please use the side entrance directly to the right of the main entrance. This entrance takes you directly to the lower level (Stage Level), where you can use the lift to get to the Entry Level and check-in.
Our Pre-conference Meetup venue, Badeschiff Vienna, is also wheelchair accessible.
If you’re arriving in a wheelchair or have other mobility requirements, please get in touch with us before the event. We’re happy to arrange someone from our team to assist you, especially when you arrive for the first time – the University of Vienna is a rather large building, and finding your way around can take a little getting used to.
Registration at the event without prior ticket purchase isn't possible.
It's best to buy your ticket a few weeks in advance to ensure participation in workshops and smooth logistics.
Nope. There’s no dress code.
Come as you are and wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Whether that means your favorite conference outfit, jeans and a T-shirt, or something a little more fancy – you do you.
It's there so you can swap contact details in seconds. Just scan someone's badge – either with your phone's camera or with the QR scanner in the event app – and their contact is saved.
You'll find everyone you've connected with in your contact list in the app.
The classic way: pick up your personal conference badge at check-in at the main entrance on either of the conference days.
Want to skip the queue and get straight to the fun?
You can also join our pre-conference get-together the evening before the conference. We’ll offer an early check-in there, so you can pick up your badge in advance and head straight into the conference the next morning.
After the event, we'll send you an email as soon as the event documentation is ready. You'll then find everything in the event app: videos and speaker slides.
Please keep in mind that it might take a little time to finish the documentation and edit everything.
Every participant gets personal Wi-Fi access for the duration of the event.
You’ll find your individual Wi-Fi login details on the back of your participant badge.
Important note
Please make sure your company devices can actually connect to the WiFi (you'll need a username + password for it). Not sure if it'll work? No worries, USB tethering works as a backup.
If you experience or observe uncomfortable situations, discrimination, boundary-crossing behaviour, harassment, or physical assault, please ask the affected person if they need support and/or contact a member of the uxcon team.
The team can be recognized by their team shirts.
Vegetarian and vegan options will be available throughout the entire conference.
Clear signs listing all allergens will be provided on site.

In your participant email (beginning of September), you’ll find a link to sign up for our event platform.
The platform is your digital hub for uxcon.
You can:
- Create your profile and connect and chat with registered attendees — both online and in person.
- Show whether you’re open to job opportunities or hiring.
- Find event information, updates, and everything you need to know during the conference.
- Watch the live stream of the Main Stage.
After the event, the recordings will also be available on the platform. We’ll send you an email as soon as they’re ready.
Whether you’re joining us in person or online, the platform helps you stay connected before, during, and after uxcon.
Yes – you’re welcome to take photos (and share them!) and also record short video clips. Full-session recordings, however, are not allowed, but don’t worry: we’ll be recording main stage and side stage talks and share them with you after the conference.
Yes. We’ll have a wardrobe with limited capacity at the check-in area where you can leave your jacket or a suitcase during the day.
There’s also a locker room on the lower level, directly opposite the main stage (Audimax), where you can securely store your things. You’ll need a €2 deposit to use a locker.
Please note that the lockers automatically open again at midnight, so make sure to collect your belongings before then.
You'll receive an email with all necessary information a few days before the conference.

You can register using the email address you used to purchase your ticket.
You’ll then receive an email with a link to activate your account.
Once your account is activated, you’ll have access to the online event platform, where you can:
- Watch the live stream of the Main Stage
- Connect and chat with other participants
- Find event information and updates
After the event, we’ll also make the recordings and speaker slides available on the platform. We’ll let you know by email as soon as they’re ready.
Our call for speakers for uxcon ’26 closed on February 15.
In general, the call runs until mid-February, after which we begin the evaluation phase together with a jury of experts from different backgrounds. We’ll get back to all applicants with either an acceptance or a rejection once the review process is complete. Please note that this may take some time.

- Study room – a quiet space where you can work undisturbed
Yes. During your participation at uxcon vienna, you might be photographed or recorded (including audio). These recordings may be used across different media (print, online, etc.) and in uxcon vienna publications for public relations and documentation purposes.Please note: there is no financial compensation for this. Providing consent is not legally required, but if you do not wish to be recorded, participation in parts of the event where recordings are made will not be possible.

Logging in
Use the email address you registered for uxcon vienna with. Enter it, and we'll send you a login link by email – that's it, no password to remember.
You can log back in the same way any time.

We'll email you as soon as everything's up.
We're completely overwhelmed by the number of volunteer applications – we're currently not looking for more volunteers.
That said, if you'd still like to apply, feel free to do so anyway. If a spot opens up, we'll happily reach out to you. You just need to fill out our call for volunteers form

There's no dedicated parking for uxcon. The venue is located in Vienna's short-term parking zone ("Kurzparkzone"), so if you're arriving by car, you'll need to find a spot yourself and pay for parking there.
We'd recommend using Vienna's excellent public transport instead – it's fast, reliable, and gets you right to the venue.
There are changing stations in some main building restrooms. If you need a quiet space for nursing or have any other needs, please let us know before your arrival, so we can plan accordingly.
