Forget generic analytics that barely scratch the surface. This workshop is all about building metrics that connect directly to real user outcomes – tracking progress, highlighting wins, and identifying challenges with clarity. Prove the strategic value of UX by creating metrics that tell a compelling story of impact and transformation. This is the only chance to catch Jared in a full-day workshop this year. Might be worth showing up for this unique opportunity!

About this workshop
Outcome-driven UX metrics is a radical approach to measuring and reporting UX metrics with your organization. By focusing on what truly matters to users, you'll learn to tell a compelling story of UX's role in driving positive change.
In this workshop, we'll move beyond generic analytics and delve into creating metrics that directly tie to user outcomes.
You'll discover how to:
Increase the strategic contributions your UX team delivers to your organization.
Raise the perception of UX’s value in the eyes of your executives and senior stakeholders.
Inspire your development and product management peers to prioritize UX in their work.
What you'll learn
The Outcome-Driven UX Metrics framework is a unique approach to measuring user experiences. It’s not based on analytics with a fuzzy relationship to your team’s work. Instead, you derive your metrics from your users’ most important outcomes.
Throughout the day, you'll explore:
- Success Metrics: Define what improved user experiences look like and how to measure them effectively.
- Progress Metrics: Track the journey toward UX goals, identifying key milestones along the way.
- Problem-Value Metrics: Spot and articulate obstacles hindering user satisfaction and how to address them.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have a clear framework for developing UX metrics that resonate with both users and stakeholders.

The mission of UX is...
... to improve the lives of everyone who uses our products and services.
If the work you’re doing won’t improve someone’s life, why are you doing it?

Measuring experiences, not behaviors.
The Outcome-Driven UX Metrics framework helps you track what truly matter – how your work improves users' lives. Instead of relying on generic analytics, you start with a simple question: How will we make things better for our users?
From your observations of real user experiences, you define what success looks like (UX Success Metrics), track progress toward that goal (Progress Metrics), and identify obstacles (Problem-Value Metrics).
These metrics tell a clear story: where you’re going, where you started, and what’s in the way. Once you understand the basics, you’ll be able to create and apply your own metrics – and turn UX into a true driver of impact.
