About the Speaker

Max is an Austrian lawyer and digital rights activist, best known for taking on Facebook in landmark cases that led to the downfall of the Safe Harbor and Privacy Shield agreements. He’s the founder of NOYB – European Center for Digital Rights, a nonprofit organization that uses strategic legal cases to hold big tech accountable and protect people’s privacy.

Over the years, Max has challenged major platforms like Facebook, Google, and others, sparking wide debates about digital rights and data ethics. At uxcon, he’ll share his insights on how these legal battles affect user rights, data practices, and what designers need to consider when building privacy-respecting experiences.
