About the Speaker

Victor designs software, mostly. Lately he’s been helping climate scientists visualize their data and researching how to make renewable energy as ubiquitous at home as coffee machines.

He wrote a book called Why We Fail: Learning from Experience Design Failures. He also has a newsletter called Climate Design.

Previously he has built server rooms and houses. He has sold clothing and salads. He has taught at Rutgers University, and the design schools Pratt and Parsons. He helped start the Information Architecture Institute and the Overlap conference.

Originally from New York, he now lives in Hamburg and has learned to enjoy riding his bike in the rain.
