Round Table: WCAG the gathering: How to design and use card-based methods
What if accessibility guidelines weren't just something you read, but something you could play, remix, and turn into actual methods?
This interactive roundtable shows how card decks can move beyond summaries to become practical tools for learning, auditing, or facilitating accessibility work. After a short introduction to the WCAG 2.2 Card Deck - including Braille and game-inspired editions - we will explore how card-based methods work , what makes them different, and how to use them in real scenarios.
Then it's your turn: try out the cards yourself and start sketching your own method ideas. Whether you want to learn or teach WCAG, audit interfaces, or create something entirely new, this session will help you get started. We will exchange ideas, build on each other's concepts - and who knows, maybe one of your ideas will turn into a new method for my WCAG 2.2 Card Deck.
This session is designed to be accessible and engaging for all experience levels. Beginners can get a hands-on introduction to WCAG and accessibility through card-based methods, while more experienced UXers and facilitators can explore new ways of turning guidelines into actionable tools and even start prototyping their own methods.
